Where I get my inspiration

Here you will get a little peak into my thought processes and what influences and motivates my design and illustration work. If you have never heard of any of these people or their work I would thoroughly recommend looking them up on th web.

Hayao Miyazaki

There are countless animated films that I enjoy, but many of the filmd prodcued by Studio Ghibli are overlooked by the masses, I would encourage anyone to watch Howl's Moving Castle, The Cat Returns or Sprited Away. All weird and completely wonderful!

Bill Watterson

This is my favourite comic strip creator, Calvin and Hobbes is beautifully illustrated, but above all has an extremely funny but at the same time thought provoking narratives.

Salvador Dali

The work that Dali produced was often surrealist and I have always been facinated by the creations that came from his mind, the shear madness of the content is worthy of anyone's attention!

Julie Bell

Julie Bell paints the human form in a way that captures every muscle and emotion, many of her paintings depict Marvel super heros and she has a great ability to paint metalic objects, as you can see below of Iran Man.

Frank Lloyd Wright

An American Architect that built many interesting and innovative buildings.
I marvel at the way he was able to blend his buildings into the surrounding landscape.

Bob Ross

Oil painting has always been a bit tricky for me, but in the 90's I saw what I thought was a minor miracle, an oil painting created in little under 30 minutes! Of course it took a bit longer than that and Bob's paintings aren't considered the best in the world, but to me they are masterpieces.
